The Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation presents the first event in the series of programs exclusively for the Friends of the Sea Lab. Proceeds from the Friends of the Sea Lab are used to fund activities and projects at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab such as:
- Marine Research
- Fisheries Research
- Campus Development
- Estuarium Additions
- Education Programs K5-Post graduate
- Foundation Endowment

The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab opened its doors on March 21, 1998 to the public. The Friends of the Sea Lab are invited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Estuarium's Grand Opening. The exclusive event will feature a panel discussion which includes Former DISL Executive Director Dr. George F. Crozier, Estuarium Architect Mac Walcott, DISL Foundation Board Member and former student Margaret Van Loock, and DISL's first aquarist Dwayne Biggs.
